Customized 3D Printer (Klipper Conversion)
An Ender 3 V2 Neo converted from Marlin to Klipper firmware, with custom mounts, web/Telegram control, and slicer automation.
Project Overview
Starting from a stock Ender 3 V2 Neo, I converted the printer’s firmware from Marlin to Klipper by adding a single-board computer host, then built out a full hardware and software customization around it.
Technical Details
- Firmware: Migrated from Marlin to Klipper, running the host software on a Raspberry Pi paired with the printer’s STM32 mainboard.
- Remote Control: Configured Klipper’s web interface and a Telegram bot for remote monitoring and control.
- Hardware Mods: Designed and 3D-printed a custom mount for an E3D v6 hotend/tool head, modeled in Fusion 360.
- Slicer Automation: Configured slicer post-processing scripts to enable automatic filament/tool-color changes during prints.
Every part of the conversion — firmware, mounts, and slicer configuration — was tested on real hardware and real prints.
